Giampietro handles mainly data protection and privacy matters. He has gained extensive experience in strategic advice to companies on legal compliance, digital marketing, transfer of digital data abroad and internal audits. He also handles anti-money laundering procedures and policies.
Giampietro joined Siblegal, now Spheriens, in 2013. Previously, he worked for more than twenty years for COOP, an association comprising many of the largest Italian supermarkets. During this time, he headed the legal department of the Associazione Cooperative Consumatori Distretto Tirrenico and was director of the Fiscal Service of COOP – A.N.C.C., Associazione Nazionale Cooperative Consumatori. Additionally, he acted as coordinator for the Commissione Nazionale Privacy di COOP, contributing to the formulation of privacy policies for numerous businesses.
Giampietro is a certified Privacy Consultant and member of Federprivacy and regularly holds lessons and seminars on privacy law and anti-money laundering. He has also contributed for many years to the journals Diritto e Società and Cooperative e Consorzi. From 2007 to 2008, he was adjunct professor on Cooperation Law in the department of economics of the Università degli Studi of Florence.
